Optimizing internal work processes with INEXTIA App

Steigenberger Alsik Hotel & Spa is one of Denmark’s largest hotels, beautifully located on the waterfront in Sønderborg. Alsik is a modern, architect-designed hotel that opened its doors in early summer 2019 and has 190 rooms spread over 19 floors. It is also possible to organize conferences, parties and experiences in the hotel spa.

Alsik’s luxurious spa area offers more than 60 different spa and wellness facilities spread over 4,500 square meters and four floors. It is also possible to indulge in a gastronomic experience in one of the hotel’s 3 restaurants, developed and managed by chef Jesper Koch.

The Challenge

With all these different functions and a constant flow of guests, it was important for the team to have a user-friendly CMMS system that could systemize some of the work tasks. Before the implementation of INEXTIA, everyday life was characterized by manual processes and individual workflows. There was a clear need to increase internal knowledge sharing so that there was transparency with tasks, regardless of whether you were on the day or night shift.

Sven Schrøder, Technical Department at Alsik, says: “Communication with RINA Digital Solutions has been very good. When we needed extra knowledge about INEXTIA, they were there right away with sparring from a project manager, so we could quickly get on with daily operations.”

The Solution

INEXTIA contributes to a constant monitoring of the rooms, so any defect entries are registered every morning for the entire team to see. The job list gives the team a better overview. The INEXTIA app makes it easy to take the task around the hotel to specific areas.

Alsik hotel divides INEXTIA’s wooden structure into rooms so that they have all their rooms as actual components. This is just one example of how differently a wooden structure can be divided into different rooms, locations, machines and KKS numbers.

With the help of Analytics, the data recorded on the water meters for spa and wellness facilities is always available. You can see if there are any irregularities.

The Result

With the help of INEXTIA, Alsik hotel has optimized their internal work processes, allowing them to prioritize their tasks and get more out of their working hours. Using INEXTIA’s tree structure, they also have a constant overview of the functions in the hotel, so they can stay ahead of any breakdowns or defects that may occur.

Sven elaborates: “By using the INEXTIA App, we can take checklists with us around the hotel, and we don’t have to go back to the office to start a new task. When the building is as large as this one, these convenient and time-saving tools are really helpful.”

Future usage of INEXTA:

The team at Alsik Hotel still sees many opportunities to expand their use of INEXTIA and has a strong desire to incorporate it even more into their work processes. This applies, for example, to their inventory management, where entering spare parts avoids longer waiting times for their essential components. This avoids Alsik having to shut down facilities for a period of time due to a lack of spare parts, which can ultimately affect the guest experience at the hotel.
